Dr. Lamia Iftekhar is the Co-Director of NIRO Lab (NSU Intelligent Robotics Lab). She is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University.

Research Focus
Dr. Iftekhar’s doctoral research focused on designing driving algorithms for networks of autonomous vehicles. Her research interests include multi-agent systems, cooperative control, nonlinear dynamics, hybrid systems, autonomous vehicles, traffic modeling, mobile robotics, and disaster management applications.
She is also passionate about STEM education, particularly promoting female participation in engineering fields, and serves as Vice President of IEEE Women In Engineering Affinity Group, Bangladesh Section.
Teaching
Dr. Iftekhar teaches controls courses, programming fundamentals, and advanced nonlinear systems analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
